important technical information:

  • Some 2.5" SATA hard drives require the current up to 1Amp and the external AC adapter (optional) may be needed. Due to some notebook of power saving feature, not all of the USB port can drive 500mA current. All hard drive has a power rating printed. If you see a power rating greater than 500mA or 0.5A then most likely you will need an external AC power adapter ( DC 5V/2A,3mm DC plug)
